Without You (Love Wanted in Texas #1) - Page 13/125

She smiled, and the next thing I knew, she was in my arms. I walked her out to where everyone was dancing. As I pulled her to me, her scent filled my senses and caused my dick to jump.

I moved my lips up her neck and gently bit down on her earlobe. “Lex, I want you.”

She sucked in a breath of air and whispered, “Yes, Will. I want you, too.”

I pulled back and placed my hands on the sides of her face. I leaned down and kissed her. We both let out low moans as our tongues moved against each other. When we both pulled back for air, I smiled as I leaned my forehead against hers.

“Lex, my parents are out of town. I want to make you mine…tonight.”

Her eyes lit up with a fire I’d never seen before. “What about Libby?”

The song changed, and Thomas Rhett’s “Get Me Some of That” began playing. I looked up and began searching for my sister. When I saw her dancing in the arms of Luke, I instantly got pissed.

“That bastard,” I whispered.

Lex turned to where I was looking. As Luke spun Libby around on the dance floor, I noticed the look on her face. I hadn’t seen my sister smile like that in a long time.

Lex squeezed my arm and caused me to look down at her. “Will, it’s okay.”

I chuckled and looked back at them. “That’s my sister…and Luke. Lex, it’s Luke.”

She placed her hand on the side of my face. “All the more reason to trust them. He’s your best friend. We all grew up together, Will. Luke would be the last person to hurt Lib. They’re just dancing.”

I nodded my head as I glanced back at Luke and Libby. I looked down into Lex’s beautiful blue eyes and gave her the sexiest smile I could manage. “When can we leave?”

Lex bit down on her lower lip and then ran her tongue across it. I let out a whimper. I needed to adjust myself to accommodate my shrinking pants.

“Now?”

That was all I needed to hear. I grabbed her hand and began making our way back to my truck.

“Should we tell the others that we’re leaving?” Lex asked.

I held the passenger door open and helped her up into my truck. I shook my head. “No. They’ll just want to leave with us.” The flush that moved across her cheeks caused me to smile. I leaned in and kissed her nose. “Anytime it gets to be too much, Lex, just say stop, and we will.”

She opened her mouth slightly. “I’m not going to want to stop, Will. I can promise you that.”

Holy shit.

I smiled and stepped back to shut the door. I walked around the back of the truck, so Lex couldn’t see me panicking.

I’m actually going to make love to her.

I knew I didn’t want to wait until the end of summer. I wanted to show Lex how much I loved her. I wanted her to know that what we shared was real, and even though we were going to be a few hundred miles apart, nothing would come between us.

Opening the truck door, I was just about to get inside when I heard Lauren yell out. I quickly turned and saw Paul Hines trying to pull Lauren out onto the dance floor. She kept yelling for him to let her go.

“Ah fuck.” I looked back at Lex. “Stay in the truck, Lex.”

“Wait! What’s going on?” Lex called out.

I shut my door.

It didn’t take me long to find Colt. He was already heading toward Paul. I gave Luke one look, and he nodded. We both started running, but we didn’t make it there fast enough. Colt grabbed Paul and knocked the shit out of him. Lauren screamed and jumped back as Paul stood up and went after Colt.

Luke grabbed my arm and shook his head. “It’s his battle. Let him go for a second.”

Paul swung and missed as Colt landed another hit. Paul stumbled backward and fell to the ground.

Colt walked up to him and said, “You ever lay a finger on her again, and I swear I’ll break every bone in your damn body. You hear me?”

Paul wiped blood from his mouth and nodded his head. “Yeah, I got it.”

Colt turned and walked up to Lauren. He grabbed her hand before leading her back to his truck, and he helped her in. He walked around, jumped in, and took off.

I looked at Luke, and he was smiling.

When Paul walked by us, Luke stepped in front of him. “Dude, what in the hell made you think you could touch her? Between Colt, Will, and me, you should have known better.”

Paul looked at Luke and then at me. Then, he pushed Luke out of the way before leaving.

Maegan came running up and threw herself into Luke’s arms as she let out a little scream. “Dance with me, cowboy.”
